Tags do say San Diego area, but the entire Star Field rotates around Polaris, which is left of center in the frame, so we are looking North. … The glow on the Horizon is, I think, lights from the Palm Springs area. … When I checked the map, we are looking North, across Earthquake Valley, then across Borrego and the Anza Borrego desert, and then on to the Palm Springs and Palm Desert area. … I guess that the planes are heading towards, and from the L.A. area. I used Aperture, Photoshop, QuickTime.

Hey Jack, Nice work. those must be the planes landing at the San Diego Airport? Just guessing since the tags you listed seem to be from the SD area. As with Will (comment above) I’m new to the whole time-lapse arena as well and am wondering what program you used to build the movie? Would you mind sharing?

Hey Jack, what kind of lens did you use? You say you shot these with the f-stop wide open? What kind ISO did you use? I’m a newbie at night photography, tried to shoot the meteor shower but only a few of mine came out.. thanks Will

At first I thought the “Walking on the Hay” picture was on the ground on a mowed hay field. It was not until I read the wording that I realized the truth and saw the bails. I looked at all the “Jenivive and hay” pictures and was hoping to see a photo that would show the size of the huge stack compared to a car or Jenivive. Just how HUGE was it?

What finished size would you like? the format is any size with a ratio that = 4×6. So, it could be as little as 2inches by 3inches, or as large as 8 feet by 12 feet for a very large wall. …

This is absolutely gorgeous. I am stunned by the luminosity of the image. You have surpassed any of my attemps to truly capture the moment. You sky is by far a grand statement in giving the space its life. The great composition draws me deeper into this scene. Wonderful work. I am honored to know I was even a small part of your motivation. I’ve got to get a print of this for my wall.
