I still do not know what these are June 13, 2020 at 10:41PM

I shot these with a long lens three days ago, but I wanted a closer shot and I did not have a Macro with me, so I came back with a macro today. It is a good thing I got back today because almost all of the flowers were gone. The flowers are small, about 4mm in diameter. … And, in having to get down to the ground to shoot this, I was surprised to find that this is some sort of a sticker plant. Ouch.

Honestly, this is the first one I have seen in the San Diego area since I was young. There used to be flocks everywhere, with hundreds of individuals. Now I have seen one again.

Doc – At Lake Miramar June 04, 2020 at 01:55AM

I am not really sure what the name of this plant is. … This plant is mostly full grown, and at the end of the season it dries out and turns a very rust red.
