Tonight, I am going to the Graphite Social – Museum of the Living Artist – San Diego Art Institute, in Balboa Park.

What of a cloud?
What of it’s fate?
It’s only water in the vapor state.
My father was a Marine. I was a Marine. We lived the Marine Corps life from before I was born.
After growing to adulthood in the Military, I know it is a life I wish for all mankind. You will actively be taught new things. You will be given responsibilities way beyond of those of your non military peers. You will learn to love and honor your friends, your family, and life generally. And, you will protect those things you honor. Even protect them with your life, as so many have done before.
Some people think that the military types want, and even enjoy, war. Nothing could be further from the truth. Those people in the military are much closer to their friends moment by moment. They spend 24 hours a day with each other, and they know very deeply in their hearts how much it hurts having a friend die. They know it every day. The only people who feel this as deeply as those in the militaries, are the parents, husbands, and wives of the fallen. They also understand why they do what they do.
They honor us all.
From the first pledge in 1892 through all changes until 1954, all the pledge versions united the citizens of the U.S. of America, as equals. Then came the politicians who changed the pledge, so that they could get elected by dividing the people.
The Last Good Pledge-1924-1954, the one I recite, always, in honor of the citizens of my country, and what our soldiers have fought for.
“I pledge allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America,
and to the republic for which it stands;
one nation indivisible
with liberty and justice for all.”

I just want to remind everyone that the Fourth of July is coming up in the United States.
For my American friends, that means, Hot Dogs, Friends, Beer, and Fireworks. I am planing on having a great location for this fourth, and I am just reminding my friends that that is coming up.

When taking photos, some people judge what they see as unattractive. … I say,
“Quit judging your ephemeral beauty in todays images on your imaginary vision of your yesterdays image. Instead, look at the image of todays moment, and use todays image as a pointer to tomorrow. … To any image taken today, your five years into tomorrows self will always say, “See. Why can you not capture me like that guy did five years ago? I was beautiful then.”

Whispering flutter of beating wings glide by,
coo, coos floating through the misty morning.

Sprinkles of wet light, coo, coo,
cool my bare feet in the dewy grass.

doves sitting in a tree. Coo. Coo.
All morning long, coo, coo,
I love you, sitting in a tree.

Sometimes things just happen.
This little family came in to get some pictures of just their dogs. … Believe me when I say I love animals, I really do. But that includes the human animal. … And while images of just pets can be truly rewarding, and great, I have a penchant for getting groups together. I like the interactions between them, the way they play off each other.
So, when I started talking the family into including the child in the image, they thought it might be a good idea. But, when I asked for the father to lay on the floor and hold the brown dog up by the butt, while the dog’s front legs were hanging over the child’s shoulders, he said, “No. No way!”
Almost before he finished his rejection, the mother jumped in, stood up and said, “I’ll do it.”
This is the result. … The boy is smiling. The dogs are a little weirded out. The mom is lying on the floor behind the boy, supporting the dog. The father is standing off to the right; thinking I am making a fool of his family. I am taking one of my favorite pictures.
So it goes.
Dreaming of leaving the earth starts with dreaming about the moon. I do not dream because I dislike where I am; I dream because I want mankind to travel to the stars. I want mankind to live between worlds.
Is that such a weird dream?
Whenever I raise my eyes to the moon, I see beyond the moon, into the future of humanity. We must travel those dark places between the stars as a complete package of this earth. We need to travel in seedships that encompass the entirety of earth. … At least, that is what I think.
Here we have a beautiful human being, running with a full head of steam towards her future, tomorrow.
In Andi’s world, tomorrow does not creep in its petty pace, from day to day, to the last sylabal of recorded time. Nope! In Andi’s world, running headlong into tomorrow, we can see a wondrous world.
I like this place.
The desert is an amazing place when it is still. When it is still, you can peer through the mists of time.
This is a very specific example of time travel. Here, at these very rocks, for millennia congregated Native Americans. In ancient times, it was the place to be. People sat here, and talked, smoked, exchanged goods, maybe they even made political alinements, weddings. … We can never be really sure what happened here generally.
But, we can be one hundred percent positive that man gathered here, and they wrote on the rocks.
Our archeologists, and scientists, have analyzed the symbols, and decided that they stand for many things. … But, what those symbols really stood for in the minds of the people who spent their time at the rocks, etching the symbols that have stood in this desert for a very long time, That we have no way of knowing.
One other thing we can know. … We can know the majesty of a sunset at these rocks, especially when you share that time with friends.
This is the Stage Left Wall of the White Box Contemporarynart gallery in San DIego. Alexander Salazar, is the owner of the gallery. This is the way the Stage Left wall looked during his birthday party.
It was a costume party based on Porn Stars of the ’70’s. … This is just one wall out of the gallery, but the gallery has some fairly cool looking men and women. The guest of honor was Ron Jeremy!

I have been blown away by the ease of publishing images, and sets of images from Flickr to my Weblog. It is dead simple easy! And, I like it. 🙂
So I was perusing my sets of images, and I liked this set of Macros. They run the gamut over several years, including Snakes, Flowers, Insects, Snails. … Pretty much, anything I pointed my Macro lens at.

I love this evocative image. It seems other worldly during this sunset, filled with machines at the water/land interface of humanity.
I was on another shoot during the day. But, I found some time after the shoot. I love to meander home instead of heading straight back to the office. It gives me a little window of time to find things like this.
