Not really angry, just looks anfgry. I think this is a Viero? … Tiny quick bird hopping among the leaves and twigs. These little birds rarely sit still. Kinda hard to chase down in the scrub of Tecolote Canyon.

Clairmont San Diego is growing. June 30, 2019 at 03:23PM

Weare starting to see houses like this on the edge of Tecolote Canyon. This area is still the location of housing tract homes from the 1950’s. But, they are being bought, and put under extreme renovation, and these kinds of homes are the results.

Canyon Graffiti June 30, 2019 at 03:22PM

What with the reconstruction of Tecolote Canyon, what was once a foot path through the canyon, has now brought the scourge of Urban Taggers. … Mostly, I do not care if they tag businesses, but when our few natural places are being pissed on, I do not like it one bit.

A Lone Dove June 29, 2019 at 05:19PM

Doves are very paired birds. If one is alone, it is a very lonely bird. … This one looked at me because I "cooed" at it.

Lost Sugar June 28, 2019 at 12:19PM

Little blind sugar is Wide Eyed, scared, overwhelmed with the unknown, while we were on her hip surgery rehab visit to Fiesta Island. … We went for a long walk, up and down, the dunes, making that fourth leg move.

Just a small flower June 27, 2019 at 01:36PM

I was taking Sugar on her rehabilitation walk. It is a thing she does not enjoy, this rehab shit. … She, because of her hip surgery, would very much prefer to lay around and not move. … But she is a dog, and I am a people. In that kind of dynamic, the people gets to make the decision. … And I got to see this pretty little flower.

A Thorny Trap June 26, 2019 at 11:57PM

The trap is not the thorny part, but perhaps the trap was set here, amongst the thorns, just so that every other insect would be seeing the thorns, instead of the web.

Little Stand of Flowers. June 24, 2019 at 12:50AM

Even though the rainy season has come and gone. Eventhough we are moving into the warm summer months. Eventhough many other things, we still have stands of wildflowers that take refuge from the sun in the shadow of a sage bush.

Tecolote Canyon is Drying June 21, 2019 at 12:48PM

After this seasons abundance of the watery skies, we had an amazing spurt of growth this past season. Now we are starting to prepare fo the heat, and the drying of the hillside fuels as tinder for the upcomming fire season.

Missy the Calico Cat June 21, 2019 at 12:48PM

From Wikipedia.

Both male and female cats can be orange or black because the gene that controls orange fur color is on the X chromosome. However, in males, an orange color is usually expressed in a striped or tabby pattern.

Female cats, on the other hand, can be tabby, calico or tortoiseshell. Calico and tortoiseshell are similar, but calicos have patches of white, orange and brown or black while torties’ coats are only orange and black.

Because the X chromosome is responsible for both orange and black fur, female cats can display both colors because they have two X chromosomes. But males, having only one X chromosome, can be either orange or black.

For a male cat to have a calico pattern, the feline has to have three sex chromosomes: two Xs and a Y.
