It Was a Windy Day

A friend visited recently.

One day, in 2005, we went for a ride. It was a very windy day.

The friend, Jeffrey Eiche, and another friend, Barry Bunker, made this image possible. Jeffrey wanted an image something like this, and Barry, helped the wind blow.

Me? I drove. We started in San Diego, and wandered east on Interstate 8, to the Sunrise Highway. We followed that north through Julien, Santa Ysabel, and onward, up the east side of Mount Palomar.

That is where this image was shot, the east side of Mount Palomar overlooking Lake Henshaw.

The wind was blowing way to many miles per hour to wear a hat. … 😉

What a pleasant surprise when I was asked by Mrs. Martinez to shoot her family in Balboa Park. And then there were problems with the scheduling. … I thought it may never come to pass. But times change, schedules open, and the day was beautiful.

We’re having a conversation here. … You need something?

I love animals. And they love me. Here is a single image of some Boston Terriers that I talked into sitting on my little furniture. My niece gave me the furniture as props to shoot pets with. If you wander through the larger gallery, you will see some very cool shots.

All these gallery shots were taken a while ago, and I have become much better at my work through the passing of time. I think it would be great good fun to shoot another thousand pet photos.

The Judgement

Saturday, the second of April, I shot an event for Alexander Salazar. It was the first year aniverssary of his gallery. It was a great event for a party, and the event was also a charity auction, raising money for children.

This is an image of a woman looking at one of the images. The image was eventually bought by the man on the far right, but I just love the image of this woman standing in judgement.

The entire gallery of the images can be seen here.

The Chef

Last weekend, I was invited to an event that was wonderful. The Black Label Table – Underground Supper Club had their second evening of fine foods, fine people, fine wines, and all in a place that is not a restaurant.

That was part of the ambience. It took place in a loft where the food was freshly prepared by two wonderful chefs with a penchant for the unique. The evenings meal was based on Momofüko in New York City. Living in San Diego makes Momofüko a little bit far to travel for a leisurly evenings meal. This was out of the park!

Jean Guillou – A Composer and a Man

I love performers, performance art, musicians, artists. Jean is all the above as well as, an author, a teacher, and a composer.

I was so incredibly lucky to be able to work with Jean, through The Snapshots Foundation, for several days. In those days, I had the pleasure to watch Jean teach several Master Classes in a couple locations with beautiful Organs, and wonderful students. Watching him teach with as much passion as he performed was very warming, as you could see the admiration in the eyes of the students for the man, and in the eyes of the man, you could see his historical perspective as he worked with the future. It was amazing.

Woman in Black with Red

It is hard for me to say anything particular about this image. I just like it.
