Sweet Perspiration

One evening, in San Diego, there was an art reception for Walter Redondo at Meze, in the Gaslamp District.. Part of the evenings entertainment included a Belly Dancing group.

I just love the way this dancer stands, with her hair clinging to the perspiration on her beautiful neck. To me, this image is of a very powerful, and proud, woman who is working her body and loving her life.

It looks incredibly hot!

Excerpts From an Old Time Setup

The Gompers Prom was a small affair at The “W” hotel in San Diego. Obviously, being a Prom, everyone was dressed to the “9’s” And, they were all having a great time.

They had asked for an old time backdrop giving them an isolated setting.

So, I brought one of my 12×24 drops, a stand, and some clips to hold everything in place. For the setting, I chose a darker colored drop because I wanted the people to be the brightest things in the image. Unless you want a lot of overpowering white space to write text on, like in a magazine, I think the a bright background would detract from the eyes. … I like eyes. 😉

When we were setting this young woman into place for this image, she leaned over as she is in this image, trying to hear what I was saying. I thought it was very cute. … When we were actually shooting, I pretended to say something so that she leaned over trying to hear what I was saying again. … 🙂 Bam! I love my shutter releases for catching candid setup shots.

This is a wonderful environment for artists. The room is filled with art. The organizers are 100% professional.

It is so much fun to be in a room full of creative individuals. I met many people here, and I liked everyone I met.

A Wink, and I am Caught.

Tonight, I am going to the Graphite Social – Museum of the Living Artist – San Diego Art Institute, in Balboa Park.

I went to one of their events in January.

This is a link to all the images of that night.

It was a wonderful event, where a set of models are presented mid-room, and is ringed by artists plying their art. … If you have a chance, you should come down. I am eagerly expecting another beautiful evening in Balboa Park.

Andi – Running to tomorrow.

Here we have a beautiful human being, running with a full head of steam towards her future, tomorrow.

In Andi’s world, tomorrow does not creep in its petty pace, from day to day, to the last sylabal of recorded time. Nope! In Andi’s world, running headlong into tomorrow, we can see a wondrous world.

I like this place.

Pink in La Jolla

Jaz Cook, and her partner, hired me to shoot some images for their real estate business. She really wanted some images for their online presence. … We shot those, and they were very happy with them. We actually shot several times for several different looks. … But this image?

For this image, I had the lighting units there to shoot some portraits, and I love colors. … 😉 … So, in the moments between the real work, we played a little.

With the La Jolla sun banging against the empty La Jolla home, and streaming through the windows of a room with an ocean view and filled with mirrors, I gelled the units with a single color, and banged back.

Woman in the Grass

I like people. They are fun. They have a life of their own. And one of the greatest things that I get because I am a photographer is that I get to share some time with people that I like.

This is a friend. We walked around an island with my dog on a nice winter day in San Diego, between the winter rains of January 2011.

We spoke of hopes and desires for our tomorrows, and we spoke of times gone by. We shared a very nice day.

Two Women at Tea

Truth be told. … I like people. And I really like these two people.

In this image, we have Kat and Connie sitting at tea. … I do have a little bit of a crush on Connie, but who wouldn’t? Kat already has a partner. …

This day was a mixed bag of locational disappointments. Things did not go as planed, but we did the best we could.

Walking on the Hay

Jenivive and I went around and shot some images. There were so many images I enjoy out of the day.

I really love all the images we shot while clambering around on the huge stack of bailed hay. The color of her hair just takes my breath away.

I really look forward to our next chance to do something like this again.

Kat on a Cannon

This is Kat, on a cannon in central area of Old Town San Diego.

This is one of several shoots of beautiful women, who could not enjoy a day like this day was. A warm, beautiful day, walking around in the park with two great women, Kat and Connie, laughing and having a good time.

This was a test of a new lens. I was testing my 85mm f1.2 lens. It turned out be be an excellent lens!

I would do it again. 😉

Anja is beautiful.

Anja is beautiful.

This image is part of a larger set that can be seen at the location of that single image. … I used this image out of all the others because I find Anja’s face so compelling. The little smile, the eyes that go on for days. … And I like the sunset and the lighting.

Anja has her own business of dancing, fire, Isis wings, and a whole set of other items. You can check them out at her site location. …
